Geneva’s Hotel d’Angleterre Hosts Tamarind Restaurant

For the sixth consecutive year the Hotel d’Angleterre, Red Carnation’s luxury five-star boutique hotel in Geneva, will be hosting its annual summer sub-continental spectacular. Diners at the hotel’s Windows Restaurant will not only be thrilled by spectacular views across Lake Geneva to Mont Blanc – they’ll also have the pleasure of discovering the exciting flavours of northwest India, courtesy of a team from London’s Michelin starred Tamarind Restaurant.[1][2]

Five chefs will be flown in especially from London to prepare acclaimed Execurive Chef Alfred Parsad’s finest selection of modern Indian delicacies for a three-week extravaganza between 27 July and 15 August 2009.

The extensive menu includes a host of enticing dishes. A particularly popular starter is grilled scallops flavoured with star anise, fennel, and green, pink and white peppercorns served on red pepper chutney. While the grilled spiced salmon steaks, with a tangy sauce of tomatoes and tamarind, finished with mustard seeds and coconut milk, are always firm favourites for the main course. Diners can also opt for a special Kashmir or Dakshin set menu. Desserts to die for include Tandoor grilled pineapple with honey and chaat masala, served with rose ice cream.
